The Princess and the Dragon–Finger Puppet Fun

by Laura on April 4, 2012

I’m always looking for small toys that travel well.  Today’s What’s out there Wednesday highlight is Manhattan Toy’s finger puppets.

Tons of choices!

We have owned a couple of these and have really put them to great use.  Their small size makes them easy to pack and lightweight.  I love all the choices–you can really find puppets that your child will LOVE.  If bringing more than one on a trip, keep them together in a ziploc to easily pull out and play.

Can't you just picture all the imaginative play that will result from this dragon?

Especially for preschoolers, these finger puppets make it easy for independent play while traveling.  Trick is to keep the puppets out of normal play–save them for an upcoming trip, or take them out of toy circulation.

You can find these puppets online or at specialty toy shops.  Amazon has some good choices as well:

I love that these puppets lend themselves to easy play as well, like singing “Old McDonald Had a Farm” or playing The Three Little Pigs.

A good option for toddlers, a soft book with a tethered finger puppet:

There are so many different options for the puppet characters.  Which one is your favorite?
