Today’s Friday online highlight is Mr. Printables, an amazing website filled with all kinds of free printables for families. Keeping road trips and air travel in mind, there are some great ideas to use! Check out these links and my ideas to use them for traveling:
Mazes: Print the ones you like for a tailored maze book to your child.
File folder games: To make these travel worthy, add velcro to the backs of each piece and to the spot where they would stick. Laminate for durability. I like to travel with mine in a larger ziploc when stored so little pieces won’t get lost in bags or backpacks, and I hang on to them
Coloring pages: Detailed coloring options, some really nice pages for a special coloring book.
Flash cards: Use the cute animal, shape, or letter flashcards as a template I talked about in the Wikki Stix post. Hole punch, laminate, and place on a ring so they won’t get lost.
Printable Alphabet Book: I especially love this book idea. As an adaption for traveling, print off the beginning letter of your destination. Have your child draw pictures of things they want to remember about your family’s trip or try their best to write about it. You could also have an older sibling or another adult transcribe what the younger child said about the special memory. Result: a cool memory of your trip created by your child.
We are headed to Kauai with our little ones next week, so watch for a book with the letter “K”. We’ll see how it turns out!
